At AID Fuel Oils Group, we pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service. This includes taking additional care of our customers who are vulnerable in extreme weather. That’s why we participate in the Cold Weather Priority Scheme, which has been developed by heating oil trade association UKIFDA.

What is the Cold Weather Priority Scheme?

The Cold Weather Priority Scheme is a voluntary, industry wide initiative aimed to identify and prioritise elderly customers aged 75+, to ensure they have the fuel they need to stay warm year round.

By identifying these customers, we can take pro-active steps to prioritise fuel deliveries to those who need it most, particularly during times of fuel shortages or extreme cold weather.

How does the Cold Weather Priority Scheme work?

The Cold Weather Priority (CWP) scheme is simple in its design as it is effective at looking after elderly heating oil customers. If your household has one or more residents aged 75 and over, you are eligible to take part in the scheme.

We work to try and identify customers who we believe may fall into the ‘CWP’ category when heating oil orders are placed, however we encourage customers to alert us if they or someone in their home is aged 75+ so that they can become part of the CWP scheme and we can add this as a note on the account.

Who manages the CWP scheme?

The Cold Weather Priority Scheme is managed in house and becomes a part of the account details for participants we have identified. Once we have set up a customer as part of the scheme, the CWP scheme will run in the background and we will have this information to hand whenever an order is placed.

How do I join?

If you or a member of your household are over 75, you can register for free to receive priority deliveries during cold weather or times of fuel shortage.

We are working hard to update our customer records so that deliveries can be prioritised to elderly or vulnerable customers during the winter months. If you, or someone in your household fall into this category, simply get in touch so we can update your account.
